Log Sawing Rules
- Contestants may bring their own saws, or saws will be provided by the committee.
- All logs will be supplied by the National Outdoor Show Committee.
- Any and all preparations to saw must be made outside of school property.
- All saw blades must be kept covered at all times while on school property.
- Contestants are permitted to removed saw covers as they begin their competition, but must replace covers again immediately following their competition.
- Contestants must not make any preliminary cuts in the log.
- Contestants must be at least 12 years old.
- Contestants (except those participating in Audience Challenge competition) must make three clean cuts completely through the log. Audience Challenge contestants make one cut through the log.
- Contestants will be timed from the beginning of the first cut until the final cut from the log hits the floor.
- Contestants will be judged by the best time.
- There will be a $50 cash prize and trophy for the winning team in each category and a $50 cash prize for the overall winning time, except Audience Challenge which will only get a trophy.
- Judges decisions are final.
- Trophies and prizes will be presented at the conclusion of Saturday evening activities.
- National Outdoor Show Foundation and/or committee members will not be responsible for contestants saws or any injury received by contestants.
- All contestants must abide by the rules of the Log Sawing Contest. Failure to comply could cause contestants to be disqualified.

School Log Sawing – 1 cut
Parent permission slip is required under age 18
Business Log Sawing – 3 cuts
Parent permission slip is required under age 18
Civic Log Sawing – 3 cuts
Parent permission slip is required under age 18
